"Parkerville Schoolhouse" Note Card
Featuring Parkerville Schoolhouse No.5, a one-room schoolhouse built in 1880. The Westford Historical Commission details this schoolhouse's various purposes throughout the centuries, but here's the silly sparknotes: In a mildly concerning precursor to zoning, George A. Parker bought the schoolhouse in 1874 and may have used it to house his butcher shop. The Westford Social Club also met here, in 1896 and 1897, for whist games and sleigh rides, as seen in Gilmore Girls (just kidding).
